Berlin - the New York of Europe
by Markus Lundgren - 6 years ago
My visit to Berlin was my first visit to former DDR and all the hype about Berlin turned out to be true. I was overwhelmed by the energy and youthfulness of the city, and could definitly imagine living in Berlin. Being fascinated by the Cold War in general and the Berlin wall in particular I spent a lot of my time visiting Berlin wall museums, check-point Charlie, and other reminders of a wall that was build to keep people from leaving a defunct system at any cost. Brandenburger tor is iconic for Berlin, although cramped with tourists.
