Mont Orgueil Castle

Mont Orgueil is for me the most interesting tourist spot on Jersey. The medieval castle just on the sea shore looks very impressive and may be only compared with some buildings in the south of France. The castle was built in XIII-th century and is an excellent example of medieval architecture. The castle was completely restored a couple of years ago and now most of its parts are open to the public. Please note that climbing to the top of the castle may be a bit challenging as the stairs are very steep.
The castle is easily accessible from Jersey port in St. Helier. There is direct bus service that carry you just to the bottom of the castle (the stop’s name is Gorey Castle).
