The Small Town

I spent two days or so in Vilnius after having been escorted out of Belarus and I did enjoy my stay a lot. There are some small museums, but I mainly just wondered around town and in the suburbs looking at random things like I always do. The city is much more sleepy and green (true small town feel) than the other Baltic capitals, but it still has the same modern amenities. I really enjoyed the retro architecture of many of government buildings and the churches, there was actually a lack of the classic Stalinist construction style that has dominated many other eastern European landscapes for so long. One of my most memorable (and quite random) experiences here was that my passport fell apart (I took great care of it, but customs officials seem to have an evil tendency bending the hell out of it) and I had to buy some super glue at a local supermarket to put it back together.
