Honolulu and the rest of the island

I mainly visited the islands as part of a layover and part of my quest to visit all fifty of the United States. I wasn’t expecting much but despite not being much of a beach person I actually had quite a good time. Honolulu is not very special in itself, so I rented a car and drove around the islands to visit all the important sights beside the city, and I would really recommend that as the islands is pretty small and car rental is really cheap. The landscape varies from major skyscrapers to damp jungles, even the remote beaches are rather cozy and I saw a lot of big turtles hanging out in the sand especially along the north shore. Do not miss the pearl harbor park and memorial complex for some awesome wartime tours and ships.
