The greater Bay Area maintains a very interesting weather phenomenon year round. Due to the large body of cold water enclosed by a circular landmass you are very likely to experience foggy and very humid conditions at almost any time of the year. Even mid-July in San Francisco can be a very unpleasant and cold experience unlike the rest of the coast, preparing for this however is easy and you can still enjoy the sights at any time of the year. San Francisco itself offers a vast amount of things to do of course and most of it can be covered on foot or by street car. After you are done with the city, rent a car and head out to Napa Valley and Wine Country.
