the main goal in Japan was to visit friends I met during the Erasmus exchange in Sweden three years before. Tokyo is in my a opinion a place when old times meet with the modern and advanced era: you can find there people wearing kimonos as well as cosplays. I've experienced the crowded MRT, three guys wearing white gloves pushed me inside the coach. while I was struggling to find some space and catch a breath, Japanese people were extremely inert and numb, totally convoluted for a few minutes (one time a girl's elbow was pushing my throat). this, and the fact that there were special couches for women during the rush hours (to avoid harassment in the crowded MRT), suprised me the most.
