Industrial New York

There are some big towns in northern New York but most of them have seen their glory days fade away long long ago, Buffalo has some decent industries but nothing of interest for the traveler and Rochester is even commonly called Crapchester by the locals so that gives you an idea, the beer scene the however is truly great if you are into that. Avoid this place in the winter as they are notorious for getting slammed with crazy snow storms but in the summertime the region is well worth a drive just for the sake of seeing something different. Niagara Falls is rather pretty in itself but over exploited with hotels and casinos that sadly gives is a trashy Vegas feel. If you don’t want to pay for the fancy ferries, the best views can be had by crossing over to the Canadian side of the bridge and taking a stroll along the waterfront in both directions.
