I spent about two days in Oklahoma while driving through the state and unless you are visiting people in the region or looking to spend some time at the World Wrestling Hall of Fame there isn’t a whole lot to do in the state. There are always rodeos if you are interested and of course plenty of prairies and farmland. Oklahoma City has a really cool Capitol Hill area with a functioning (!!!) oil well on the property and of course the memorial is definitely worth a visit despite how depressing it is. I was staying close to the airport and my car battery ended up dying overnight, suddenly I was stuck there on a Sunday morning in a very religious part of the country looking for an auto shop and I will remember the hospitality and the helpfulness of the locals forever, they really went out of their way to assist me in getting back on the road right away. All in all the most amazing place I found was a rodeo and waffle house themed strip club across my hotel that had an all you can drink “bourbon buffet” for happy hour. Can you spell party time?
