Bread Basket

Iowa has a bad reputation for being boring and people like to make fun of it for having nothing but farms and corn… so what? It may not be the most exciting place for everyone but it is a very important food source for North America; it is also globally recognized that Iowa has some of the best soil in the world and it produces a significant amount of grains and vegetables to supply the continent and also parts of Asia and South America with. The small towns are always very friendly and surprisingly green especially along the many rivers, there are plenty of rolling hills and old churches to entertain you on long drives and if you need to stop for a break downtown Des Moines is not too bad for a day. It really isn’t a tourist destination but I love a good loaf of bread with a couple of potatoes and some corn on the cob. Much respect to Iowa, I may not spend my vacations here but I will definitely eat everything you produce!
