Ibn Battuta Mall

One of the nicest ideas - recreate the travels of one of the biggest Medieval Travellers in a themed mall. Though it may at times seem kitschy, the idea in itself is great and so is reading all about those times and Ibn Battuta, who is an inspiration to every traveller today. The mall is far away from the centre of happenings in Dubai, towards the end of the line near Jebel Ali, but easily accessible thanks to the metro. It is built in geographical order, with Andalusia at one end and China (which is the most evocative in my mind) at the other, with Persia taking central stage and many of the shops. Tunisia, Egypt and India complement the whole proceedings. Certainly worth a look, almost like travelling around the world in one easy mall.
