Wild West of South Africa

During my first visit to the largest SA province, I only explored the city of Kimberley. The city is famous for the big hole – the deepest diamond mine on earth, nowadays a tourist attraction. Kimberley itself looked very deserted, but there is a lot of old colonial architecture to make you feel like you stepped back in time.
During my second visit to the province, I was on a road trip all the way to Cape Town, and had to make a brake at the Wild West looking town of Richmond.
At the entrance of the Bad & Breakfast, an owner greeted me, while carrying a rifle! Apparently, he never leaves the house after sunset, without his rifle. And this was in the safest part of South Africa.
