A hide away in Santa Cruz!

In the northern part of California lies a very cold city with very welcoming happy people called Santa Cruz. I had the chance to live there for four months and explore the beauty of this town which has a huge history of surfing. Amazingly enough it has a corniche filled with benches dedicated to the surfers who lost their lives in the dangerous waters of Monterey Bay area. When I first arrive there I though I will be home sick and that I am going to an empty small village. I have learned one thing don't judge before you experience it your self. Santa Cruz has clubs, has a huge theme park with THE oldest wooden roller coaster (The Giant Dipper), museums, amazing views if you tour the coast line with bike, surfing schools, it has sea lions who with their voices make the city live at night which basically makes the time fly away. Just a small warning for those traveling that swimming in the ocean is almost impossible due to the low temperature of the water = the ocean is super cold! The wind that comes from the ocean is very cold so make sure that you take a sweater or two with you! Thing that are a must in Santa Cruz: a surfing lesson, The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, some of the Local Mexican Restaurants, the wharf where you get to take photos with the sea lions, at the end of the corniche there is a surfer's museum and it has awesome shark attacks stories as well:)
