A resort for the upper crust of US society, Hilton Head is home to around 35.000 people and feels much like a small oasis away from the highways and rushed life of the rest of the country. It's an island, separated from the mainland by a few meters of sea, and linked by a bridge, yet miles away in terms of rhythms and way of life. The Atlantic Ocean makes for some beautiful sandy beaches at parts, even if the waters may be considered a little too cold to allow for much of a swim...
