…is Herm, one of the Channel Islands (the smallest one, based on my quick research, is German Heligoland). Herm has only 2 square kilometers and is located only 20 minutes by ferry from St. Peter Port, the capital of Guernsey. You cannot go there without return ticket for the same day or hotel (or camping) booking confirmation – unnotified staying on Herm is not allowed. The island is car-free and even bicycle-free and there are only some tractors used for transportation of tourists’ bags. Herm is very calm and is occupied mostly by elderly people. It offers some nice hiking paths and a good opportunity to observe seabirds.
