After the Second World War, in which Coventry was heavily bombed, my hometown of Belgrade was one of the largest donors for the reconstruction of the town. Hence in 1957, Coventry became the sister city of Belgrade, and the main theater in town is also named after Serbia’s capital.
Coventry is well known for the Cathedral whose ceilings were completely destroyed in the War. There are many other historical listed buildings that were saved though. My favorite was The Whitefriars Olde Alehouse which offers excellent ales and has a medieval atmosphere.
