I feel guilty that I left only four hours for Kirov, as it seems to be one of the nicest Russian cities. The train station is very modern and the exit leads to the shopping center and big billboard 'Viatskij kvas' over it. The kvas is a very famous and tasty drink produced here (former Kirov's name was Viatka) and during the day it is sold on almost each street in the city center. I took a long walk around Kirov park, full of young couples, with circus and theatre on the top. For Russian standards, everything was clean and well-maintained. This city is certainly worth visiting for longer than the occasional stop by during the transsyberian rail experience.
