Crossing by train Zhejiang Coastal via Shanghai

by Jorge Sanchez - 1 year ago

I completely crossed this east part of the Zhejiang province twice. The first time was in 1982, and then in May of the the year 2016 I crossed it for the second time, following the coast, stopping only in some stations like Ningbo and Taizhou until I reached Xiamen, where the train turned westwards and dropped me in Longyan. The next day I would visit the Tulou houses (UNESCO World Patrimony).

I bought the ticket in Nanjing (with my family name on it) in the morning, and would arrive to Longyan already dark.

I took a picture of the train itineraries in China and was following mine.

It was a funny schedule of the train. The train in Nanjing, instead of going south, first it went to Shanghai where it stopped for about half an hour, then turned left to the coast until Xiamen, where some passengers embarked and they would help me to find accommodation when arriving to Longyan. Chinese people are lovely.
