One day and one night in Monterrey

by Jorge Sanchez - 11 months, 3 weeks ago

It was the year 1983. Coming by bus from Nuevo Laredo, in Tamaulipas, we (I was travelling with a Quebecoise girl) arrived to Monterrey, a large town, too large for us, which was the capital of the state of Nuevo León.After visiting the cathedral and several churches and squares in downtown we found a hostel at moderated prices where we spent the night. We found Monterrey too populated, that is why the next morning we decided to leave to Chihuahua via Saltillo, in Coahuila. Our goal was to reach Chihuahua to board the famous train through La Barranca del Cobre. After a short ride by bus we entered Coahuila state.
