Christmas day spent between Botswana and South Africa

by Jorge Sanchez - 1 year ago

I spent the day of Christmas (25th december 1992) in the borders between Botswana and South Africa. First, the bus from Gaborone headed to the Southern District of Botswana (which capital is Kanya), another province different from Gaborone district.

The bus, after the Botswana control, crossed the river Ramatlabama and in the Republic of Bophuthatswana there was a south african control. I had obtained my south african visa in Harare, Zimbabwe, so no problem to enter. that country The final destination of my bus was Mafikeng, where I spent the sdecond half of Christmas day drinking beers without coercion.

I show the Botswana exit stamp in my passport (in Ramatlabama) and the entry stamp of South Africa,
