On the penultimate day of our stay in Nepal we went to a place where a festival is celebrated only once in 12 years. The Fulchoki festival in Godavari. For this reason many people make a pilgrimage to the 1000m higher Fulchoki Hill to honor the gods who protect the Kathmandu Valley. After the descent to the temple at the foot of the hill where the faithful are basting themself with holy water, the celebrations followed. The Nepali TV channel “Nepalmandal Television” took the opportunity to interview the only foreigners who took part in that festival. The second to last night we spent in a Sherpa-restaurant in Laltpur, where we drank the typical Nepalese Tongba, which is served in wooden vats. These were the last hours in Kathmandu. We enjoyed the time with our Nepalese friends and thank them for their hospitality.
