Pavlodar, the old Koryakovsky, an Imperial Russian outpost

by Jorge Sanchez - 8 months ago

I arrived to Pavlodar by train, from Astana. I spent the full day visiting its tourist attractions, starting by the main mosque (very beautiful and where I was allowed to go inside and listen to a sermon given by a mullah) and the Blagoveshchensk cathedral, a russian orthodox building, where in the entrance I found a bust devoted to the Novgorod prince Alexander Nevski.

The next day I left by a train and then a bus to my next Kazakhstan destination, Petropavl, always overland, like a real traveler, and never, but never, using airplanes.
