Gulf of Porto: Calanche of Piana, Gulf of Girolata, Scandola Reserve (UNESCO site)

by Jorge Sanchez - 5 months, 1 week ago

I spent half a day admiring this place. I took the bus from Ajaccio to Calvi and stopped before arriving to Porto, in Piana, where I spent one hour taking pictures to the fantastic rock formations (calanches), some with a hole like a heart, others looking like the head of a dog, etc., plus the forest  And then walked and hitchhiked to Porto to enjoy the beauty of the gulf. I ate in Porto and when I reached Calvi I studied the ruins of the house where Christopher Columbus was born (according to the locals).
