Bouches de Bonifacio (UNESCO Tentative List)

by Jorge Sanchez - 5 months, 1 week ago

I boarded a ferry between Santa Teresa Gallura, in Sardinia Island, (Italy) and Bonifacio, in the isle of Corsica (France) crossing the Strait of Bonifacio.  But once in Bonifacio I learnt that the French side of this strait is registered in the tentative list of UNESCO. So, in order to get to know it more properly, I book a boat excursion of 1 hour duration to observe in depth this site, including the dramatic limestone cliffs and the citadel (of the Kings of Aragon, Spain) seen from the sea. In two occasions we entered caves through a narrow hole and discovered an idyllic beach that was a hidden place for pirates.
