Tango in Seville

by Veronika Pavlova - 2 years, 7 months ago

Tango is an addiction and this is not a secret for those who are already caught in a “tango-loop”. So if you are reading these lines it´s probably because you are thinking to go to Seville but not sure about its tango scene… well, good news… it´s lovely and lively! There are many milongas, concerts, lectures, classes and tango-related events all year round and I am sure you will find your own favorites. You will for sure fall in love with the people around tango – really nice and helpful (even though your Spanish started and ended with greetings). They make you feel like home and welcome after your first milonga. All you need to know is to be found at www.casadetango.es but I am going to mention 4 places which I know, like (so much) and would like to recommend. 1. There is a milonga every Wednesday and Sunday in bar Garufa (Calle Jiménez Aranda 5, Seville) in a nice dark bar with a good dancing floor and nice music. 2. Another option is restaurant Rio Grande (Calle Betis 69, Seville, first Thursday of each month) situated by the river Guadalquvir, there are gorgeous views like from a movie from fifties, very noble. 3. My favorite one – la Tardecita (Calle Castilla 95, Seville; held every Sunday except June-September) - people who are running this place are exceptionally friendly and the entire atmosphere around is just great! 4. It is crazy to travel to Seville in the summer but if you have no choice – there is a nice option for you -open air milonga in plaza del Museo de Bellas Artes de Seville (June to September). Hot summer nights, cute little square in the city center, music, dance, wonderful! Well, suit up and bailamos!
